bittersweet

fall is probably the season i miss new england the most. i was so excited to come across this shop in massachusetts that sells freshly harvested bittersweet bunches. i love watching the little yellow shells drop off to reveal the bright berry underneath.

I don't know bittersweet over here in Scotland, but we have other red berries that are looking terrific right now!

I love your display and with the white painted brickwork as a background it looks so beautiful!

lol -- i love bittersweet too and was blown away by the scads of it in mass when i moved back here from vt -- then i was even more surprised to learn that it's illegal to sell it in mass, altho i can't remember where i read that but it's invasive, an invasion i kinda like (i used to have to buy it in vt)...
