business meetings and...

we had a lovely picnic meeting this afternoon with a.b. and i finally got a shot of this awesome news i've been speaking of...baby choo is in there! alethea is going to have a little girl in january!

when matt and i were in newport last month we spent as much time as possible with our wee niece (lovingly known as tootie butt wiggler- there's even a song that goes along with it). she liked me ok- but she really had a thing for her unkie. it is so hard to be away from my east coast family, especially when there is a wiggler around.

miss natalie and ben came to visit us at the shop just before christmas and snapped our photo; a rare occurrence to have a good photo of both of us. usually one is blinking or scowling, or doing "weird hand" (an un-natural awkward bend in the hand/wrist), or smiling way too big, or looking away disinterestedly. in case you were wondering which choo is which- alethea in black on the left and jill on the right. i got a little teary

one of our readers and her son created a fall collection board inspired by we like it wild last week-and a little tear came to my eye when i looked at it. those tiny hands with the scissors and the dreamy photos...i guess i am getting sappy in my old age. it warmed my heart to learn that some people actually make the projects we write about. thanks so much for sharing oakmoss. she has a beautiful shop too. all photos by oakmoss

we received a very sweet surprise package in the mail. we almost didn't want to open it. thanks honey and poppies!

new york times

we were lucky enough to be mentioned alongside some of our favorite florists in a great new york times article about the new floral classes popping up across the country. the author of the article took a class with sarah and nicolette at the little flower school- if you are in the new york area you should too! at the end of the article a few other classes are mentioned- including our soon to be announced classes! (i will be adding photos later as i am on vacation in rhode island and i don't know how to use my dad's pc that well and i just had to mention this!)

we finally met baby ella yesterday. she is so sweet- look at that little coy smile. congratulations lauren and lewis!

shauna and stephen were in town for the opening of forage at the curiosity shoppe and we delivered these flowers for the party. and they stopped by the shop on saturday. and i am a big dork and i took their picture in the shop. because i think they are so great. if you haven't seen the ties yet, they are amazing. word is they'll be available online on tuesday- get one!
