the saddest boy in the world

bernie had a cut on his foot that he wouldn't stop licking...it got infected now he is in the cone zone. poor guy.

we had to make a special trip down south to re-up our succulent supply. heaven. lil' boy picked out a few that he wanted.

pee wee is scared of my truck and runs and hides when she knows we're going in it...but bernie hops right in, so after a few errands down the coast he got to do the fun stuff!

we had a very exciting meeting today- we found bernie's long lost sister shiraz!!! (they are wine twins...bernie's original name was cabernet- but he seemed more like a bernie to us.) we weren't sure if they would remember each other, it has been four years since they have been together. they didn't really show any signs of recognition but they got along fine- and they looked so cute together. shiraz is smaller than bernie and was a real herder (she's fast too). i don't know how anyone could have given these two away but we are sure glad they did! we hope to meet up again soon.

we're back from our tiny trip- it was very fun. it was the first time we have taken the dogs with us on vacation. we found lots of fun swimming spots (the water was so cold but they didn't seem to mind at all) and temps were in the 70's! we also popped into the mountains a bit where they experienced their first snow and loved that too. bernie kept sinking down but he'd pop back up like a rabbit. they were so tired last night they didn't even bark every time a car door shut at the hotel. i couldn't ask for much more than that.
