the lovely joy (from one of my favorite blogs, oh joy!) was kind enough to ask me to participate in her "currently loving..." series. the series has different artists and designers capture a moment of their style and what they are loving right now. check out the full post here!
i've got my holiday decorations out and did lots of online shopping this weekend! and i think we might get our tree tonight too...maybe a little early but i like to enjoy it for the whole month!
i have gotten a lot of requests for more of the wooden stones prints, so i decided to make another version in brown. these will be added to the shop tomorrow along with the big holiday update!
i will be doing a shop update this friday with lots of new holiday goodies and some old favorites. there will be mini domes, stump pillows, nuggets, birch diorama ornaments, vintage barkcloth stockings, fabric scrap garlands, log boxes, and more!
my new goodies are available now at the shiny squirrel! they are both small edition items so pick one up fast for holiday gifting. the "oh small stump i love you so" is a batch of 10- and i think it is my best yet. and "pick something else" is an edition of 22 hand drawn and silkscreened prints.
i created a special edition of "oh small stump i love you so" for the shiny squirrel- they are the best yet! they will be available around the 15th of november only at the shiny squirrel! i'll let you know as soon as they are ready for purchase.
after tomorrow i will be done with all my outstanding obligations and projects, yeah! i have been crazy busy with many different tasks, so it will be nice to focus a bit more time on just creating. thanks for all your orders and inquiries- many packages are on their way today!
i ordered a bunch of plastic log boxes last year and was really disappointed with the way they looked. i decided to try and paint them into something i liked better, and this one is almost done.
here's a peek at a limited edition, hand silkscreened print i made for the shiny squirrel. it will be launched for sale there around the 15th of this month along with a new batch of special softie surprises. i'll post about them again when they are available for purchase.
just kidding- but my name was in the newspaper today! there is a cool article in the sf chronicle today about "the decor shop as gallery" featuring rose and radish, rare device, the curiosity shoppe, and doe. the sixty forty print club is also mentioned- an idea i came up with as a way for people to purchase affordable, original prints while supporting independent artists and donating to a charity. speaking of which- there are only 6 of my "round" prints left! hurry and get yours- the donation from this print will go to 826 valencia.
the wood holiday banner is featured in adorn magazine's indie gift guide this month! it looks like a really good issue with lots of great holiday ideas.
